OUR STORY

SWSS began in 1995 with one woman, a passion for water quality, and a desire to help where others couldn’t. While working for a local town water department, our founder Debbie noticed that a neighboring community — without its own water department — was struggling to meet new state requirements. As Massachusetts began classifying more systems as Public Water Supplies (PWS) in need of licensed operators, she saw a growing need and stepped up.

What started as a helping hand quickly turned into a calling. As the number of clients grew and the scope expanded from drinking water into wastewater systems, both she and her husband Bruce left their full-time jobs to build SWSS into the company it is today.

Their deep commitment to doing “whatever it takes” — to protect public health, meet compliance standards, and serve clients with integrity — laid the groundwork for a company culture that still thrives. Now operated by the second generation, SWSS continues to live by that same mantra, bringing the same heart, hustle, and hands-on care to every system we touch.
